Hi, I'm Vanessa! Thanks for stopping by my little slice of the internet. I'm so happy to be able to share my recipes and yoga practice to help with your own journey.
I've been reflecting on how I got to this point in my life's journey and, in hindsight, the dots connect quite nicely. As my parents would say, I'm no stranger to making a mess in the kitchen... it's been going on for years now. Even in my youth, I really enjoyed trying new foods, learning different techniques, and testing my hand at creativity in the kitchen. During college, I became a vegetarian and opened myself up to the idea of expanding my culinary creativity in ways that I had not previously done. I recently became a vegan for ethical reasons and I haven't looked back since. I believe in the power of fresh, delicious food made with lots of flavor and a hearty helping of love.
Wholesome plant-based food makes you feel good from the inside out and part of that manifestation is physical. When your food gives you the nutrients that you need, you have the energy to be active and give your body the movement it craves. I have a background in competitive athletics and have always enjoyed movement-based activities. I came across yoga over a decade ago by way of an exercise video in my parents' basement. It was an on-again, off-again relationship as I focused on other athletics, but I always enjoyed stretching my body and the peace that came after practicing. Fast forward to two years ago when I came back to yoga after suffering from a tough time in my life. Since then, I have developed a daily practice, received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification, and discovered my love for yoga. I want to share my passion with the world and help other people on their journey to better their lives.
Those closest to me know that putting together a blog to share my love for yoga and tasty, wholesome food has been a long time in the making. I'm very excited to have you here on my journey to change the world one happy belly at a time.
